I've also been learning how to solder and repair gameboys and it's becoming a problem... I can't stop looking at em on shopgoodwill and ebay. My eventual goal is to get good enough at smd soldering so I can build myself a pocket color (gameboy color in a pocket form factor) using one of the community's pcbs since those use pretty much all new parts save for like a few pieces from a donor gameboy. It's a cool way to recycle otherwise broken/unusable consoles
