Should I use meow.social?
It seems alright, what is it like exactly?

I never used mastodon before. And I refuse to go to bluesky. It's curated so that's at least similar to here. I wanted to give the fediverse a shot for a while
I suggest giving it a try at least. Doesn't have to be meow.social (cause they are not completely registration open.)
Most instances communicate with each-other (usually they only block communication with nazi instances and instances without moderation) and you can follow your friends from other instances, I went there 'cause I had an old invitation from my partner. I seen a lot of folk from here going to chitter.xyz; floofy.tech; or even go with mastodon.social
Keep in mind you can migrate instances later and not lose your profile, so that's ok aswell afaik.
I still don't really know how to use mastodon tho. Need to get used to it. Apparently you can't comment, you can just reply with posts, like twitter threads I think.
I've been mostly in bed depressed since the news broke.
