Consider also: turning into a dog and everyone expects you to be having these mental changes and treats you as such, but you actually feel nothing of the sort and your tongue flopping out whenever you try to tell them as much just makes it even more embarrassing. At what point do you just give up and play along? Your revenge will be so sweet once you change back…
It really is more embarrassing to try and keep up your dignity when physically you're changing....sure, you can do your job, but you can't help panting or thumping your tail in the office, and indignant insistence loses a lot of it's credibility through that tongue and drool!
Maybe it's worth it to play mutt for a while! And no one would suspect anything, let alone studying transformative magics or something when left alone. Soon as you have thumbs again...
