seeing Fuel in the Related list is a trip; I never see that game mentioned anymore & never see it recommended ever, but it is 100% a fantastic game for dicking around by driving. I definitely didn't expect to feel that way twice in a row with the Tetris (CD-i) mention, whose soundtrack is my #1 Falling Asleep On A Plane/Train album. great page; I'm looking forward to the next one!
(edit: to be clear I am not going to bat for Fuel as being a good game, lol)
a big thing for me in assembling the pages and the 'IF YOU LIKE...' stuff is not avoiding games that might be considered 'bad'. Fuel hits that in particular, a lot of the actual experience ISN'T good, isn't smooth, but that doesn't necessarily matter if it hits something interesting in the brain or fulfills a specific desire. i've got Disaster Report on the to-do list, for example, which is fucking jank as hell, stiff and awkward, but man, who gives a shit, it sticks in your brain far better than many much smoother, more polished titles.
such a good game. i have to get around to HG3 (PAL) and HG4 sometime. tho honestly i'm overdue to just revisit Road Trip.
Yes yes yes, love this game. The only open-world driving game that I will acknowledge.
I love the presentation of this! Reminds me of the hours upon hours I'd spend as a youth flipping through gaming magazines, reading as much as I could about games I'd never play. Honestly didn't even realize I missed that.
Also Road Trip Adventure sounds dope, I wanna play it
