aside the confident visual style and all the cool little touches and flourishes, one piece of design i think is really nice is the stage-end bonus for the maximum cancels with one bomb in that stage. gives bombs extra scoring utility without letting you just turn the whole stock into score. is there a score bonus for carrying a full stock of bombs, like the "MAXIMUM" text would suggest?

in practice there's still an incentive to turn the whole stock into score because you get 100 points for each bullet cancelled by each bomb, e.g. 30,000 points per bomb if you spend them all during a boss pattern that fills the screen with 300 bullets. but i do love the stage end bonus for the best bomb used in the stage, and i hope other games use it too!

sorry for the confusion, "MAXIMUM" just means you can't get any more bombs in this game, there's no dodonpachi style incentives or anything for keeping it at max. I love giant beam attacks in games and I wanted players to use them as much as possible 😅
