A friend and I very recently made a Discord server for game devs, creatives, and gamers to discuss & actively collaborate on games that intersect with and/or challenge Christian themes and theology. Anyone who wants to engage in these topics in good faith is very welcome, regardless of their religious background. Some info below:

  • We're both avid game jammers in different disciplines and love the collaboration that those events encourage; we're hoping this server can share some of that spirit!
  • I've worked as community manager professionally and have over four years of experience moderating Discord servers specifically (ranging in size from 50-5,000+ members); you can expect thoughtful, skilled server management.
  • Feel free to join here: https://discord.gg/v7zfHs2A6E

As a bit of context, I grew up in an evangelical Christian household but rejected the faith in high school after coming out as queer and experiencing a lot of prejudice and hypocrisy in the church. It's only been over the past five months, after nearly seven years away from any sort of faith system, that I've been exploring how I want to engage in faith.

As I've been exploring, I've started to have the desire to see more games that explore faith (Christian or otherwise) critically, personally, and accessibly. It's interesting to me that the majority of the world is religious, and yet games tend to be such a secular form of media — probably in large part because of how unusually secularized the Western world is.

Feel free to reach out with any questions!
