the failure of our government to end the time shifts honestly gives me more existential dread than some more obviously pressing and way more important things they won't address
it would be so easy and unambiguously good for them to stop the time shifts, and yet they cannot act on even this one very simple thing.
right??? like, to my knowledge, there are no major lobbying forces in favor of daylight savings. it makes things more annoying for everyone. and yet, because changing it would cost more money in the short term, despite saving time, money, and lives in the long term, there's very little will to change it.
it's The Way We Do Things, and therefore it must be just. the american thought process at work
