honestly we're so convinced that the most important parts of european paganism were deeply tied to particular places, thats why we aren't interested in trying to "reconstruct" those religions, and instead we try to build something new. there would be very little point to us reconstructing them when we live on the other side of the world from the places they are so tied to. ironically, the storygods are the more relevant to our context, because they are somewhat less placey (and still, often so rather placey!)
at any rate we mostly aren't that interested in those gods as like, beings to request favors from, but more, a kind of landscape to learn from, through stories and myths and pondering and poetry. hence "storygods". they don't have a monopoly on me, they don't control me.
