i didn't like how song of the sea did the cliche thing of a nonspeaking autistic-coded character suddenly becoming perfectly able to speak at the end as a "resolution" to their story. i wish more movies allowed nonspeaking and semiverbal autistics to be that way, to be accomidated instead of "fixed"
BUT
on another autistic reading of it, i simultaneously rly love it and resonate with it, as an autistic who's found that singing and playing instruments is far easier for me to express my feelings than through speech
like over all i find myself having both positive and negative feelings about this movie from an autistic perspective but overall i really really love this movie
