we learned from listening to the crime pays but botany doesn't podcast, that apparently eucalyptus trees are so adapted to wildfires, that they actively try to start them

this is why they shed tinder-like bark full of highly flammable aromatic compounds. they need the fire, and these adaptations encourage fires to happen
