if the warranty makes the buyer cover shipping for returns and repairs, it's not a warranty. you as a company don't want to pay for that shipping? then fuck you, make a better product in the first place that doesn't need to be returned or repaired
shipping a 300$ countertop dishwasher will cost like over a hundred dollars for a round trip, and that's not acceptable. it just discourages use of the warranty at all.
it's a way for the company to say they offer a warranty, but not in a way that anybody will actually use
bad warranty service just feels like yet another extension of planned obsolescence
