and like, obviously you cannot literally (re-)experience the idealized image of childhood, of having a idealized body that is younger and smaller, and having an idealized caregiver, and an idealized environment that is safe, where you don't have to worry about anything, and not having the curse of knowledge (and from our personal experience, dwelling on these impossibilities too much can really easily turn unhealthy and lead to void-staring.)
but if you're jaded about the world, and you wish that you could have that mindset of being a kid again- well, you can. the capability to cultivate imagination, excitement, joy, play, curiosity- these things are in everyone.
our society would like you to believe that they were crushed out of you, destroyed, lost forever, but that's not true. they are still there.
entering into this mindset can be difficult at first, because you don't have as much practice, and honestly, we don't have the energy to explain methods for getting there at the moment. we suppose as starting points for thinking about this: plurality, autism, playing music, drawing, chaos magic (as in belief-as-a-tool), meditation, psychedelics, self-teaching botany, playing pretend with our partners, and exploring littlespace thru ageplay/cgl have all helped us reach this state in various ways, but we don't think you strictly need any of them.
if you miss having that sense of playfulness, take it back. don't let them trick you into thinking that part of you is dead.
