We've got the VR headset and explored some VRChat architecture in isolation, but we've avoided public worlds, unsure of what the general vibe is there. Nor have we spent time with others in private worlds; most of our friends aren't VR users. Where best we go from here?

it could be worth seeing if some of your friends are interested in joining in desktop mode. i've had fun exploring stuff with friends and a fair few of them didn't have VR
getting bootstrapped is a pain in the ass. a lot of it is making some initial friends, and finding public worlds that aren’t the ones that the 12 year olds find first. i’ve not been on in a couple months but places like Soft Sea were pretty good at the time. Sometimes you gotta just bounce around Black Cat instances to find the non-children, or find a group like grownhub or ancients of vrchat.
