it just occurred to me that pikachu is a species and ash's pikachu is just one of them
in my brain pikachu was filed under the same categorization as like, "sonic the hedgehog". just a little electric mouse named "pikachu", of which there is only one
somewhere out there is a pikachu just named like margaret or something, living her own life, and everyone keeps asking her where ash is, and it's really starting to piss her off
