not as a retrofuturism thing. there was a time when everything was touchscreens and smartphones and tablets
but because everybody got fucking crippling rsi and was in constant chronic pain because of all the touch screens, everyone just stopped building them into stuff, outside of niche applications because all technology became basically unusable for most of the populace
