Here? Here's where I post cats and while high.

'oh you didn't deliberately misunderstand how easy your problem is to solve by spending an extra $300 on purpose-built hardware?' nah dude. I'm trying to play a video game. it tried to drop an 8GB log file on my boot drive and that crashed the entire machine. Sorry I don't think that that should happen, especially not when I didn't install it on that drive and I didn't ask it to write a damn thing on that drive.

"well that's your fault for buying a laptop with only a 32GB SSD"
My good bitch, that is not the only thing on the boot drive. It is 120GB, a respectable size for a laptop's m2 drive. But fuckin' windows decided that's where my user profile lives, and fuckin' adobe decided that's where it would install things (even though I told it to use the D: drive, where there's ample space). I'd change it, but I use it for work too, and I don't really want to spend my free time fucking up The Work Machine.

"why didn't you simply make a file path alias so that it'd write to the D: drive" because I don't have as cool of black reeboks as you, ye debonair sysadmin. Every google result for this shit is either over my head, SEO nightmare bullshit, or nerds like you arguing.

IN ANY EVENT: the fix isn't "randomly fuckulate the OS parameters", the fix is "be a good fucking citizen with the software you write - install it where the user expects it to be installed." I don't get how this is a hard concept to grasp, especially on a QA site where you can leave feedback for developers. They aren't elon musk, you don't have to shield them from complaints, you hygiene-adverse recluses.
