playing the Foundation DLC for Control and i'm conflicted:
on the story hand, i like this version of the bureau better, one that believes in its mission uncynically in the face of its employee fatality rate - it isn't cracking redacted jokes about how many rangers were killed or what have you. i
on the mechanics hand, this feels much clumsier - it feels like they had a skyrim modder fill in the combinatoric "these are potential gameplay things we didn't add the first time around; lets show off our systems more! lets give you all the tools!", right down to the falmer melee hiss . one of the best things the first game did was hold back on the player, where you were unlocking huge, critical things basically right through the end.
