i finished NEO:TWEWY today! overall i loved this game a lot. i adored the main cast (shoka and nagi especially) and the returning characters were so fun to see back. the story had a lot more to it than i could've expected and it was a blast. i think this turned out really well as a sequel to the original game - i think if you were playing this without having played the original, though, a lot of stuff wouldn't hit anywhere near as hard. it doesn't really feel like something you could play standalone. if you're interested in the TWEWY games, play the DS original before you play this. it emulates pretty well if you don't have a modded DSi/3DS/etc lying around somewhere. (the Switch version is ok, but plays entirely differently and removes a significant part of the gameplay from the DS original.)

my only significant issue with this game would be that the soundtrack isn't quite as good as the original's (Deja Vu is missing!!), but it still has a lot on it that i really like. i'm gonna try and get the soundtrack CD sometime soon, along with the original's if i can find it for a good price.

i haven't touched the postgame for this yet, but i'm looking forward to it! i'm gonna actually try and do a decent amount of it this time around. when i played through the original game, i didn't touch the postgame at all (mainly because i sucked at Tin Pin Slammer...), and i just ended up reading all the story from it online.

i'm really glad i played through this. it's kind of a miracle that this game even happened to begin with.
