started playing through NEO: TWEWY yesterday, and i love it a lot so far. i played the original DS game earlier this year and loved it to bits, and it's really interesting seeing how the sequel iterates upon the original and changes things around, 14 years later. i wonder what the sequel was like for anyone who played the original back when it released.
obviously the gameplay can't be like the DS game, so instead you get 4 pins set to the face buttons, or triggers/bumpers. there are pins for each button, so e.g. you could have a pin on X, a pin on Y, one on ZR, and one on L. i think this works pretty well, and the gameplay still feels pretty TWEWY-ish. additionally in this game you have 4 party members all at once, unlike the original where you only had two. it's cool!
i've only put 4 or 5 hours in so far, but i'm really looking forward to playing more. all the characters are great, and the world's as engaging as it was in the original. i've heard some people say NEO is better than the original, and i'm really curious to see if i'll end up thinking the same once i'm done with it.
