aaah I almost forgot to mention, Shadow Abraham Island is formerly a secret world-government black site/ultramax military prison/illegal para-human experimentation compound on an island the size of Manhattan. It has dense jungles, snowy mountain areas, and probably like a volcano or something. It was liberated by SPEKTRAL (with secret help of the US government) and serves as BLOODMOSES' main base. Many of the Para-human and regular human prisoners have joined BLOODMOSES, the few that refused were executed.

This game was originally going to be based off the 2005 cable drama Prison Break, but it uh... took a few weird turns.

and here's the graphic I'll be presenting my players. Their secret government black-ops unit is PAIN UNIT 02, and the party is comprised mostly of Para-humans.

I love this idea! I'm intrigued to know how you envision the gameplay. Will it be heavily stealth based like MGS? How do you plan on adapting a "solo sneaking mission" for a party of players?

I've given it some thought! So first, we're using FIST from Powered by the Apocalypse, which is a very rules-lite, laid back kinda game. Thankfully that offers me some wiggle room to just make stuff up and plop them in situations where the best and most obvious option may be stealth. Also thankfully they're all familiar with MGS, so I don't think it'll be too far from their minds!
Second, there are other elements to this that wouldn't regularly be in a MGS game anyway, like persuading guards, really most dialogue out of big speeches and long navel-gazing political diatrabes. So we're already mixing up the formula. It's going to start with them in-situ breaking out of prison, night of the breakout, plan just kicking off. They'll have a loose understanding of the system/limits of their character/superhuman abilities, and I'll have them make up the plan and justify it to me as things their character's would know/resources they'd have/abilities/tragic backstories/etc.
And third, they're all going to be super-powered on the MGS equivalent of bosses, so maybe they don't need to sneak around as much? For every Cyborg Samurai there's gonna be a Guy Made of Fire who is Contstantly Setting Things on Fire, and I want them to have their big hammy role play moments!

Hi sorry I don't mean to spam you with replies, but I wanted to share that one of the players wants to take on an Advisory role and be a PC that calls on the Codec and dispenses advice, which is such a great choice that I hadn't considered. I'm basically going to feed him the skeleton of a plot, and his role will be to fill in all the details and share that version with the other players.

It also saves me the trouble of having to come up with like, actual details of the story, which is nice.

The rest of the group hasn't decided, but they've floated the idea of one of them being the "Main Character" and the rest being mostly advisory or side-plot characters like Otacon and Meryl, so this might just end up naturally working out? We haven't even started yet and it's already getting wild
