The Wyatts have Bray, who has some good physical qualities, can pick up the pace and strike fast and heavy, but is also a true leader and chess player, a lot of mental games to what makes him effective. And then you have Harper and Rowan, who aren’t exactly the same, different approaches, but they’re big bruisers. The Shield have three extremely distinct styles. But as they all have strengths, they also all have flaws, and they can’t hang around too long and let those get exploited by guys who all seem trained in the same methods, even with their differences.
IN SHORT, yes, I was and am really into this feud and the dynamic between the teams, and I think they all played it masterfully.
[...T]his is an incredible match that just builds, builds, builds, and tells several stories with the people involved. We see Reigns the one-man wrecking crew, we see Ambrose the mad dog, we see Rollins as a sort of glue keeping the group in check, and also his own talent on display as a ring general for the unit. But we also see a group, on that side, of three individuals who are maybe becoming less of a unit.
So what’s the key difference on the other side? An unquestioned leader. Whatever his methods or tactics, Harper and Rowan completely defer to and fall in line for Wyatt’s commands, but he gives them enough leash — because he needs their help — to keep them happy and not feeling like simple pawns.
