I'll know that I've really made it as a writer when someone makes unsolicited fan art of a character I wrote. Doesn't matter if I ever get published, it's the gay drawings that are important.
i know i made it as a writer when someone messaged me with fanfic of my stories (i ended up dating her and writing stories together)
it was lovely, until we broke up and i couldn't even think of that setting we shared for the better part of a year :(
(things are much better now and i've had a few more ideas for that setting recently)
