May the Fourth etc.; I don't see a lot of reasons to celebrate the fun commercialized meme from Disney, these days. At least we have gotten neat games in the now hundreds of Star Wars releases. Star Wars: Electronic Battle Command isn't the first ever, it's the second. Sorry 😔 BUT it is infinitely cooler than its simple head-to-head predecessor.
The dedicated console simulates space fights, where X-Wings and TIE Fighters go at it, in between other obstacles like black holes. Red dots indicate spaces that are inhabited, after which a player can give a set of fixed commands. The winning player is the one who has Force units remaining. While not as fun without the tactile element, the game has since been digitized.
