weh
I should be sleeping but I woke up with a headache. maybe I was clenching my jaw a little bit good thing I had my night guard in maybe I will sit up and knit for a little while. I always hear that "if you are up in the middle of the night you should get out of bed and do something until you are tired again" but whenever I am up in the middle of the night it's like. not tired enough to fall asleep, but not awake enough to get out of bed and concentrate enough to read or knit.
stevies brother was supposed to come over Wednesday evening but he stopped responding to us. it was like "yeah I am waiting for this guy I was working with to drop off my tools and then I will be over" and then we just. suddenly stopped hearing from him. Then last night he calls and explains that he was doing a vinyl siding job with some guy he just recently met (I think the guy who had his tools?). the guy assured him he knew how to do the job and could do it by himself. well apparently the guy couldn't do the job at all and with the rain/wind we have been having lately, all the siding immediately came off and was in the neighbor's yard and it was Stevie's brother's job to immediately rush over and fix all of it.
So hopefully he is supposed to come over later today. We just have a lot of little repair jobs around the house that Stevie and I really don't know how to handle on our own, but also cant afford to have a "normal" handyman come around and help us. And it would benefit him because we would still need help through the winter when it is normally hard for him to find jobs. We were very lucky and qualified to get a free roof replacement a few years ago and besides needing some work on our chimney, the outside of our house is in good shape. It is mostly just inside that we are having issues. hopefully he comes over today and I think we are starting with finishing repairs on the shower and also replacing the shower room floor. Our shower room is ... carpeted??? genuinely do not understand the design choices of this house that my dad never changed after buying it (which he could have changed when things were a lot cheaper and he had a lot more money, but we cant fix the past I guess)
