cleaning out pots and pans went way better yesterday than I was expecting. We got all of them together... which ended up being way more than I think any of us expected. I did a preliminary cull and went through and removed pans that were mine, but I didn't have a use for anymore. Or pans that were obviously broken or super scratched. A lot of "my stuff* was unused baking pans of various styles. I had a baking phase a few years ago and my mom kept buying me baking pans (that I didn't ask for) and most of them weren't practical for every day use. I kept a couple bread pans, pie tins, and cookie trays, but otherwise i got rid of everything else. I did toss my muffin tins, but I do want to get silicone ones eventually if I don't happen to find any while cleaning.
Then I had dad come out and go through the rest with me. He actually did not keep any pans that he wasn't going to use! He agreed the other pots were just worn out and we had other, better condition ones. He kept saying he was going to keep some of them and store them in the basement, but in the end we actually don't need to store anything in the basement. Everything we kept should fit in the kitchen perfectly fine. I am fairly pleased.

Next big cleanup is going to be the pantry. πŸ™ƒ I might push it off until next week since we have been doing a lot lately.

Yeah! Before when I would organize I would just go through stuff in its "home" area. But since listening to Marie Kondo's book I am trying to bring everything I can from a category into the same area to sort through it. I think taking it out of its home also makes me question a little more if I really want to put it back (which I think is going to be super helpful when it comes to fixing up the pantry)
