Draculaura
Cohost's #1 Draculaura Stan

I can't remember where I saw this originally, maybe reddit? but I am trying out something new I saw a few months back.

I struggle really hard with buying things. Even if I think that thing will make my life easier, because I feel "guilty" spending the money on something I "don't really need".

The post that I saw, OP said every time they get paid, if there is something that would make their life easier, and it is under $20, they just get it. If it is over $20 it is something they might save up for, or wait and see if they can do without/find something cheaper to use. But if it is under $20, they just go for it.

For example; last week I bought a set of those fitted sheet suspenders that keeps them on the bed. I flop like a fish at night and I end up having to fix the fitted sheet every morning. I can live with fixing it every morning, but it is annoying and there is a $10 fix, so I went ahead and ordered. Now I have a fitted sheet that stays in place and my life is a little easier (and comfier)
I also got myself one of those humidifier fish that cleans the water. They are only like $6, but I never bought them because "Well I can just clean the tank for free", but way too many times I notice the humidifier needs to be refilled while I am getting ready for bed and I dont have enough energy to clean it out. So now I just have this little fish guy that does the extra work for me
This week I ordered a cute set of stacking measuring cups that when put all together makes a little mushroom. It was $15. Generally I would never spend more than $5 on measuring cups. But the my current set has some missing pieces and the measurements are rubbing off, but I was still making it work, even if it was annoying. Now I have a fresh set that has all the measuring cups I need. And then there is the bonus of it looks cute and is fun to display on my countertop.

These aren't things that will have a huge impact on my life, but they are things that make my life a little easier and/or bring me joy.
I recognize not everyone has a spare $20, especially in this economy, but maybe you can adjust it to work for you? Maybe you get something that is $10 or less? or you put aside $5 when you can and buy yourself something at the end of the month?
Just an idea I felt like sharing
