Hello! I had a lot of major events happen this summer that my family was not financially prepared for. We were hoping the only thing that would need to be done was replacing our damaged front stairs, but instead we had a dog emergency, had to replace the hot water heater, and had to do some major repair work on our shower. Because we were not prepared for this, I have had to put a lot of these purchases on credit cards. My family and I have been working out budgets to pay them back, but we are at risk for falling behind.
Breakdown of what I still owe on major bills at the moment:
Emergency Vet Bill: $300 (Need to pay this back by January to avoid back interest from Care Credit) PAID!!
Hot Water Heater: $300 (Also need to pay this back by January to avoid back interest from Home Depot)
Stairs: $325 (I made a GoFundMe for this originally that was fully funded, but there was some changes that had to be made to my order that increased my final bill. This had to be charged to my regular credit card, so I am gaining interest on this every month)
We are hoping to have no more major disasters, but we do need to start doing some preventative repairs around the house. I would like to be able to catch up on bills so that we can start saving money for other repairs before they become an emergency situation.
At this moment I am not at risk. I am stressed and constantly worried about money, but I am not at risk of not having a house/eating or being sent to collections. This is mainly a preventative to keep me from getting into a more stressful situation in the future.
Thank you to anyone who shares or donates and thank you to everyone who has helped me and my family so far over the past few months. I know I say this every time, but I am truly grateful for this community. Y'all have helped me so much and I would be in 10x worse situation if it wasn't for the help I have gotten so far.
Good news! Care Credit is totally paid off from the help that I got! Thank you!
Bad news (which has two parts, unfortunately)
1.) My mom took her car in today to have the tires rotated and found out the undercarriage of her car is badly damaged and needs to take it to the shop Monday. She just had to pay $600 to replace a burnt taillight less than a month ago. At this time she will no longer be able to help contribute towards our bills
2.) My gf got sick and had to miss work yesterday. I am either getting sick as well or being stressed out about her being sick has triggered my chronic illness. Either way, I would like to be able to take the day off of work tomorrow to rest before I get worse. However it would cause us extra financial hardship having both of us miss a full work day within the same pay period.
I kinda prefer ko-fi donations bc of the transparency, but I can also take donos thru PayPal directly or cash app
