going to a conference tomorrow, and decided that i really needed to make a pamphlet to discuss trans issues within the community. it's a quick intro to what being trans is, how to be respectful of people who are transitioning and what not to do, and a quick overview of how anti-trans laws not only discriminate against us but limit our career opportunities (for example, two of nasa's biggest centers being located in the most aggressively anti-trans states).

for the record, i think planetary science is a field full of lovely, supportive people, but i've been finding some of them really aren't aware of the reach and damage of anti-trans laws, and there's the usual crew of well-meaning older people who do things like sharing both person's chosen name and deadname when introducing them. (which after talking to a couple of people who have done this, they intended as a way to find that person's previous research before transitioning)

we'll see how it goes, and i'll post the printable versions of the pages when i get a chance

actually, i have time now. since this is laid out in a format that makes the zine assembly process easier it's probably going to be baffling to read online.

instructions: print double-sided. the first and second images form the first sheet, the third and fourth images form the second sheet. cut horizontally along the middle of the page, and stack the bottom two halves under the top two halves. staple and fold, and you've got a zine!
