#13: i do not dream of labor

hah. does anyone do that under capitalism? does anyone actually enjoy working to survive? i can't fathom the idea of enjoying a job under this system. you're working a job not primarily because you enjoy it, but primarily because you'll be dead in a few weeks without it. even if you're lucky and it is something you enjoy, does "do this thing you enjoy for a roughly a third of your waking hours for about 5 or 6 decades of your life or else face excommunication from all aspects of society" sound like an appealing prospect to anyone? sure doesn't to me.

Hot take: I like doing what I do.

Is the system itself broken? Oh yeah. But it turns out I like playing in the dirt. I also know that this is a privileged as fuck position, but I genuinely enjoy what I do for the most part. If I had enough money to not do it, I would probably still be doing it.

Part of work is self-expression and fulfillment for me. I realize myself in no small part through the work I do. But that might just be me being very german though.
