so most people know about the first Gooper since it was basically everyone's first entry into "indie pixel rpg that changes you forever" but a lotta people dont know that the same dev team release Gooper 2 just 18 months later. the release coincided with a couple other great releases so it got totally overshadowed, but i think that it's way better than the original, and builds upon every single element that the first game introduced. apparently the development both of them were concurrent, and any good idea that couldn't make it into the first game was just added to the second game instead of shelved, which seems like a really smart method for managing scope. for example, the sploosh'n'douche mechanic was barely implemented in the first game, yet becomes a core aspect of the combat in the second. if i can get my capture card set up, i'll try to stream a playthrough cuz it's a game that everyone should experience
