so what? impermanence is beautiful? the fact that it won't last forever just means it's precious while we have it
for however long that is. we're not being paid to worry about how to keep the site going or its financial well-being, so we refuse to. seriously. strategic vision for the future of an organization is among our professional services, and we have not been asked to provide it for cohost nor do we have the time and resources to do so unasked. we prefer to let the people who built the place worry about that, because it's a lot of stress to take on and we have plenty of things to stress about that are actually in our control.
i've made my friends on this website. even if cohost vanished today, i'd still have contact with the people i met here. i fully expect cohost to disappear some day. it's not going to be here forever, and that's ok. just means i enjoy it while it's here, and go somewhere else with the friends i've made once it's gone.
