kinda funny to me how my estradiol implants are a conversation starter even in explicitly trans spaces. it seems like such an uncommon method of doing hrt that everyone's like "wait, that's a thing???". the simple reality is that doctors will not prescribe injectables in australia for whatever reason, but there's a few that will do implants, and they're pretty much the next best thing. maybe even better - they're supposed to last about a year, maybe more, so its even more convenient.

i do feel like implants have me relying more on the whims of whichever doctor i’m currently seeing, and i think i’d prefer the weekly rollercoaster dosage curve of injections to the year-long downward trajectory of implants … but it beats pills or patches!!
i was on pills for 2 years before this. it's only been what, 3 weeks of implants? i can already tell the pills were doing fuck all in comparision lmaoooo
