i've been using this reader for a bit to manage all the rss feeds everyone's been posting lately, and i'm really liking it. it's a selfhosted web application, so you'll need somewhere to host it, and the skills to deploy/host it. pretty simple docker deploy though, and i can share the nix derivation i built for it if any turbonerds are interested in that.
pros:
- very clean UI
- dark and light theme available
- folders for organizing feeds
- bookmarks for individual items
- it's a PWA, so you can set it up on mobile just like you can with cohost
- very lightweight server footprint
cons:
- doesn't automatically mark items as read - you've got to click a button to do that manually, little annoying
- the folders are only for organizing feeds in the list of added feeds - not for sorting feed items
- no shortcuts for easily navigating through feeds (although the dev opened an issue in the github tracker for that a month ago, so maybe eventually)
