someone in our life just got a word from their therapist that they might have adhd, so either my partner or i just kinda went “oh cool, congrats”

and they went “i don’t think people get congratulated on getting a diagnosis”

and my partner and i just looked at each other. like. i brought them flowers and their favourite treat when they got their adhd diagnosis on paper. and they were so excited for my new crutches to arrive that we unpacked them and went on a test walk together.

so no. if you would like to get congratulated on a diagnosis, mobility aid, or other disability things: congratulations! so happy for you!
