- the cataclysmic damage it did to the IP that culturally rippled for over a decade,
- how huge the IP is and how much it was respected at the time,
- how much promise the game showed while it was in development,
- how literally all of it would’ve been preventable if the fucking suits on top didn’t stick their goddamn fingers in the perfectly good cake and mash it around and then pull it out 5 minutes later and blame the oven
it was set up for failure from the very start and everything this game could’ve been has been slowly driving me mad ever since i was 11. sonic 06 you deserved better babygirl i love you
yknow this is probably just a pipe dream, buuut… seeing as we’re still in the golden age of unfathomably high-quality dream remakes of classic earlier-gen games…
i would love to see sonic 06 rewritten and reworked and forged anew with RESPECT. one of the greatest games that never was, reborn as the phoenix—fitting, given the imagery of solaris.
