Yeah, I don't know why YouTubers remove the auto-generated caption track if only the first two minutes or so is going to be captioned.
i had a mini rant about a similar thing on bsky last night 'cause I caught a whiff of somebody's screenshot dunking drama where they used the alt text to editorialize the post they were quoting via screenshot instead of just.. putting the text of the quoted post into the alt text. like "screenshot of (personal opinion about what was being said)". why even bother putting that into alt text, you're just using that as extra space for your beef!!
dear god that’s infuriating. maybe people who need alt text want to, yknow, KNOW WHAT’S BEING FUCKING SAID?? DIRECTLY??
