In response to the tags here, as someone who generally thinks most Sonic games with a bad rap are getting it undeservedly: Lost World really is just not good. Like they actually made really good feeling and fun 3D platforming movement, but one out of every four-level zone actually uses it. The majority of the game's levels are 2D (that feels worse than Generations' 2D) and levels which are entirely gimmicks, like rolling in a giant snowball or playing pinball or ice-skating
yikes. yeah that sounds REALLY frustrating, especially as someone who gets annoyed with poorly-proportioned 2D and 3D in sonic games. the actual 3D platforming is the part i’ve always been curious about, so you have at least piqued my interest about that, maybe i’ll have to mod in custom levels that actually use it lmao
Yeah, like the game opens with a pretty strong first level that seems like it's easing you into the mechanics of the game like most first-levels-of-3d-platformers do and then it's like you almost NEVER use them
