I’m sure everyone is torn up about this place shutting down, and I’m no exception. Cohost is indisputable proof that there can still be places online of pure good. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing this vintage internet for the past two years here, and although our time was cut short, I still cherish every moment. But this doesn’t have to be the end. There’s so many amazing people out there waiting to connect, the only difference is the platform. I’m sure we will see other attempts at pure internet spring up in the coming years. Some may work, some may not. That doesn’t matter. What matters it to build your own networks. Surround yourself with like-minded people. People who make you laugh. People who make you smile. People who make you look forward to chatting with them. And most importantly, people who make you feel at home. Cohost was a place for those kinds of people. It still is. And although it’s now nearing its inevitable end, *the people aren’t. *
A better world is possible. And it’s people like you that can make it happen.
So to anyone reading this. Be it seconds after I post this or maybe even years down the line after everything is long archived…
Connect. Communicate. Curate.
Surround yourself with people you want to be around. Fuck the other guys. Make your own little corner of the internet where you can be happy. Where you can do whatever you enjoy, and create whatever you like. But above all, create.
Get out there and make shit, man! Music, Games, Books, Rants, Videos, Cosplays, even Porn! Make things. Find others who make things. Make together. People have always been able to come together and create. And they’ve created some amazing things, like this website.
I know I was never the most active person on here, and I don’t even know if anyone will read this. But if you do happen to stumble upon this post. Share it. Let others discover the joys of creation. Because that is something nobody can take from you. Not even a little website getting shut down.
