Plugged in a housemates macbook to my thunderbolt dock and absolutely nothing happened because it's “unsupported”
Apparently at this company, if you happen to boot up your Macbook before your first day (to say, check it it was damaged in shipping) it's completely borked and you have to wipe it and reinstall macos
I had that in my previous job. Mac only, no exceptions. It *sucked*. Only stayed there a year (not for that reason ^^), but having to deal with a Mac was a daily annoyance.
I wouldn't mind a Mac if it was a managed device, I just wouldn't choose one if I had to set it up myself
the last time I used one it kernel panicked constantly and eventually crashed so hard I had to re-image the main drive

Whoever's responsible for that should have their torso "unsupported" (remove their spine)
I'm reading that there are some weird third-party drivers you can use to work around it, but it Just Worked on my Lenovo running Ubuntu. Admittedly my Framework only supports one monitor over TB though
