on one hand, i get it because +/-18VDC is really convenient for audio applications and a barrel plug is a nice form factor, but on the other hand AUGH
a barrel plug is a nice form factor if it's got two contacts! imo! if you have more just use something else
If it makes you feel better, it's entirely possible to treat the very outer layer as GND and the centre pin as 18V. the inner wall is then a spicy 36v
if i wanted secret bonus voltage i'd float a bunch of atx power supplies in series with each other
