You know what's an even scrunglier format than PDF? CSV. Check out this meticulously curated list of 8351 amusement park injuries. (From Saferparks, which as far as I can tell was not any kind of official agency, just some roller coaster nerds doing this pro bono.)

It's got a quality that I love in these kinds of things, which is that 99% of the injuries are mundane. Roller coaster derailments and crashes are incredibly rare and always make the news. This list is more about "Patron stated she tripped over another guest after disembarking and hit her shin on the train. Normal ride operation."

There is also gore and mayhem, but they are placed in context by the far greater number of reports like (from a trampoline park) "Patron attempted a front flip and kneed himself in the nose." and this, to me, is the soul of PDF hobby.

Also I'm kind of amused by how they never list park or ride names, but they will give data like "dark ride, built in-house, located in Anaheim," which, I mean, gosh I wonder who that could be.

In conclusion, this document contains at least 6 separate incidents in which someone ate a pot brownie before riding roller coasters and then experienced Regret.

Ooh, I think I found some of the rides I used to work on! We were the only park in our city and only had one ride of each type, so it's pretty easy to tell. They're things like "I went on the spinning ride and now I'm dizzy" or "I went on the ride full of bright flashing lights and had a seizure", which... there's not much the park can do about that. Also found one of the horror stories they told us in training about the importance of following the safety rules. But yeah, most of them are stuff like "I went on the spinning ride and now I'm dizzy".

listen, I learned a very valuable lesson that day about trusting my California friends when they describe something as "very mild, but just try half of one if you're worried"
