so if you didn't answer them fast enough, anyone could just hack into your inbox and answer your asks for you. there was also an internal tool the site admins could use to attach a reply to any unsent ask which in this case they used to express their confusion regarding the exploit.

What you want to do is go into your settings, and under the "Audio" tab, make sure you have your audio driver selected. Like this:
