Tinder Fungus was a male Arborizan bounty hunter from the moon Yavin 4. Sometime following the Battle of Yavin, Tinder found himself in the employ of Jabba Desilijic Tiure.
In my mind Tinder Fungus originally appeared in two issues of the original Marvel Star Wars comics run, where he was referred to as a "Tree Walker". This got changed to "Aborizan" when he was included in The Essential Guide to Characters in 1995.
His only appearance in new canon is a POV chapter in a "From A Certain Point Of View" book where it's established he was actually a hiding as a tree on Yavin 4 and was present for the events of Rogue One and A New Hope.
