So, apparently, Lattice changed up the Licensing for iCECube2, and people freaked out about it, then they rolled it back.

But like, they acted like all the iCE40 FPGA boards instantly turned into pumpkins and were unusable, which is baffling,

The FOSS tools are no golden child but they still work well enough and in some cases better than the Vendor wones, why do a huge portion of "makers" act like they don't exist?

This ia a big problem I have with the "maker" community in general, a large chunk of them think that Vendor tools are the one and only way to do things and everything else will just never work, but it's been shown that Vendor tools, more often than not, are just, objectively terrible, sometimes worse than the alternatives that are out there.

Yet there are people that say you "MUST" use the Vendor tools, ugh,
