Freddie is almost never all that interested in human food unless he thinks it's something he likes-- and he is very polite about not getting up in your business to investigate, and if he IS interested then it usually only takes me holding the food out and him giving it a few sniffs before he goes, "oh nvm I don't want this" and sits back to simply watch me eat. but he has occasionally surprised me, like the time that I held out a fast-food cheeseburger and he full-on took a bite of it before I realized he actually DID want it. but still, I can count on one hand the number of times that Freddie has shown actual interest in consuming human food
just now, he came up to investigate the freezer pizza I was having for lunch, and he was showing quite a bit more interest in it than he usually does. so I held out a tiny piece of mozzarella cheese for him, and he very happily licked it all over before taking it gently from my fingers and eating it. and then he stepped into my lap like "cool thanks for the snack; I will reward you with my calming presence for the next several minutes" and anyways there's not really a point to this post, I just really really love my cat so much and he's the absolute best
