My partner got a 1 week work from home exemption (she did have to fly back up, yes) because she couldn't find a place to rent in Wellington. I told her to put me down as her fake 'landlord' reference. She panicked, but I assured her it would be fine.
Within an hour, I got a call from the property manager. I talked my ass off for five whole minutes. Pretty sure I gave the best 'landlord' reference they've ever heard.
The worst part was when that property manager asked me, "So do you think you'll be returning the bond?"
I was confused. "Of course! Why wouldn't I?"
I shit you not, that property manager literally answered, "Damn."
Anyway, within 2 minutes of talking to her 'landlord', my partner got a call saying that they're offering her the rental.
NO RULES IN LIFE. GO OUT THERE AND DO CRIMES.
Monocultures carry significant risk. If a fungus evolved the ability to digest the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we could witness a 90% drop in cinema worldwide in just two or three years. This is why most AMC theaters are kept pumped full of antibiotics, which is not without its own set of risks.
when you are debugging and find another, unrelated bug in the process it's so hard not to escalate into "this is it: my whole life, unraveling"
to borrow a sentiment i've seen here before: german must have a word for the feeling of writing yourself a jira ticket to work on as soon as you're done with your current jira ticket
