At some point I was going to fall into the Eurorack pit, and I figured it might as well be now - I ordered a Moog Mavis and powered 104HP rack to start. In the long run it might be a bit small, but in the short term I can save some space by having my Minilogue handle MIDI-CV and sequencing duties. (HINDSIGHT EDIT: The Minilogue XD only has CV in, and will in fact not work for this purpose.)

Extensions I'm tempted to go for in time:

  • The Nijel distortion effect, which exposes a set of jumpers for physical preset cards or electronic components, letting you jab in diodes or photoresistors to change the effect
  • One of the kits to adapt a Volca or NTS-1 into rack-mountable modules - a hacked Sample especially seems like a cheaper alternative to the dedicated Eurorack sampler modules
  • The Erica Synths Pico series, especially the DSP effect module
