another com, another post, as the old saying goes. i was excited for this one because a) i was actually able to do it normally and b) it seemed like there was a lot of interest in this one. that second point turned out to be very right: as of 11:38 pm est on the 28th, there are 45 entries!!! (42 on time, 3 late) this makes it the most on-time entries for a compost thus far, and considering late entries, this is the new record for compost entries!! i won't be surprised if we break the current record of 43 total entries. how exciting!

this time around, the prompt was baking mode. i think it goes without saying at this point that people interpreted baking in all kinds of different ways, from the chill to the cute, to the funny and even the creepy somehow. a lot of palpable energy in these submissions to be sure.

speaking of the submissions: here are all the entries for compost #4!

with 2 late entries:

not much profound to say at the bottom of the list this time. it's always just really cool to see a bunch of talented people get together and just do something neat. it warms my soul. shoutout to the internet.

though there were two observations: a) i feel like a saw a lot of people saying they were new to compost this time around. hello new people! hope you had fun! and b) there wasn't a lot of cover art this time around. not like it's mandatory or anything, but it's always cool to see what visual companion musical artists can come up with.

anyway, that's all folks. thanks as always to @hvb for hosting composts and to all the people who made cool songs for this event!
