Hello again to tumblr users coming here! I primarily use tumblr but I've had a cohost account for a couple of months. Basically, many features here are analogous to tumblr and the buttons are labelled in fairly self-explanatory ways, but I'll mention a couple of differences:

  • I recommend you go through settings first and set things the way you prefer.
  • You can't see who liked or reblogged a post. You can see the number of comments, but not likes or "rechosts."
  • You can use html and css in posts (this is how you make a list like this, for example). In the post editor, you type in the "compose" tab and then you can click on "preview" to see how the post will look.
  • You will not get recommended posts and there is no "for you page," the closest equivalent in the sense of posts from anyone on the site would be "the global cohost feed" tag. The only way to find posts and users is by searching for users and tags (the search function works better than on tumblr).
  • OP's tags are visible on reblogs.
  • When you edit a post you made, it is changed on the blog of everyone who reblogged it too. Same for if you delete it.
  • Like on tumblr, you can have different sideblogs. Unlike tumblr, you can follow different people on them and your dashboard will look different when you switch to a different blog (click down arrow next to your url in the top right corner).
  • If you click the exclamation point in a triangle in the post editor, you can add a content warning on your post. It's like a separate tag area where you can write what warnings you want people to see before they see your post (they will be shown this text and will have to click a button to see your post).
  • Posts on your dash and in tags are in reverse-chronological order.
  • they call posts "chosts" here.
Feel free to add anything I missed if you want.
