No cheesy video this time, just straight into it!

I had a bit forced break since the last extended spanking, but still found that I'd improved massively. It's like all the little pieces of the puzzle are starting to gel into something more coherent. I've also, finally developed some decent muscle memory, movement and blocking have become second nature which is cool as it makes it at least look like I know what I'm doing. However I am still having allot of trouble connecting combos, which leaves me with allot of wasted pokes, punishes and counters. Best way to solve this would be to spend some time labbing, which I've done painfully little of 😔

Anyway I've got a more detailed breakdown after the jump.

Zoning, or lack of it..

As much fun as Testament was my brain is not wired for zoning lol. This has meant I can focus on a more rushdown(ish) playstyle, and I get to main Baiken again! Just like the X2 days ^_^

Spacing & Movement

This has been my area of greatest improvement, movement is now second nature and I'm taking allot more care with spacing. Because of this I'm really starting to have fun with heavier pokes, and anti air, it's also given me so many more tools for strategising on the fly.

Blocking

Coming from a Tekken background (where you guard on neutral) directional blocking absolutely scrambled me. Blocking is the first skill I really sweated on in Strive, and it was crucial I worked on it till it was second nature. Along with being a necessary skill it's really allowed me to slow the game down to where I can parse what's what's actually happening. Which really helps with..

Pokes, callouts, & punishes

They're landing, allot! I've found it easier and easier to create openings for myself and push into a more aggressive play-style. This single improvement has been so damn fun, I still have a stupid grin on my face when I think about it.

Combos & Chaining

"It's time she learned to RC" This has been the most common bit of feedback at my local fighting game meets, and I agree. While I do have a few combos under my belt, I have allot of trouble chaining and extending them. This has left me with a very.. clunky playstyle, getting Roman Cancels down should help smooth this out.

Backdashing

I need to stop it.. seriously (´▽`;)
It's an old Tekken habit and it's really starting to become a problem, patient and careful blocking is useless when you predictably open yourself up so much.

It's so exciting to look back at my progress these last few weeks, don't get me wrong I'm still getting my arse handed.. but the improvement is enormous(‐^▽^‐)

Last of all a big thank yooouuu to Suzy, Amity, and Liander for being there to grind me into paste 💜

You're welcome, pal! Always a joy to fight you (and to see you improve in leaps and bounds).

Absolutely recommend learning some RC applications -- if nothing else because RCing is fun as hell, and lets you do so much more with your character
